EligibilityThe competition challenges graduate students to deliver a compelling presentation of their project and its significance to a room of non-experts in just three minutes. To participate in VIU's 3MT you must currently be registered in a graduate program at VIU. Students must not have graduated prior to the date of the competition final. |

The goal of this session is to introduce participants to the broad landscape of health research in Canada and will cover a wide range of topics, including: What is health research and why is it important? Who provides funding to make it happen? Who typically conducts research studies? How do you write a good research question? What are different ways to share study findings? Every day, faculty and students at Vancouver Island University undertake boundary-spanning research and creative activity. Together, and with community partners, they ask thought-provoking questions and challenge conventional ideas. They investigate, innovate and create new knowledge and works that go on to change individual learning journeys, disciplinary knowledge, and community/industry practices. They experiment with new models and techniques forging new ground and innovative practices. |

The AERL is moving its footprint on the VIU campus into the forth floor of the newly opened Health and Sciences Centre. We now have a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility, with significant space for growth in targeted research areas.
