The Na’tsa’ maht Shqwaluwun: One Heart, One Mind learning series

The Na’tsa’ maht Shqwaluwun: One Heart, One Mind learning series includes a range of half-day, full-day and multiple-day education sessions taking place throughout the school year that are free and open to all interested faculty, staff, students and community members. Such learning series offers a variety of ways to learn more about Indigenous Perspectives and engage with others.

Lunch Series Feeds Curious Minds Looking to Satisfy Appetites for Knowledge January 18, 2023 - 2:54pm

Lunch can be a time to nourish the mind as well as the body thanks to Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) annual Bring Your Lunch and Learn Series starting this fall. The series, aims to create a culture of sharing knowledge, having open discussions and fostering a supportive environment where people can present and discuss their ideas and insight about various topics. The sessions are open to the public and everyone is invited to bring their lunch, listen to the presentations and participate in a 30-minute discussion.

Two VIU Academics Join the Royal Society of Canada's Class of 2019 November 4, 2019 - 10:55am

Two accomplished Vancouver Island University (VIU) leaders are being welcomed into the highly respected 2019 class of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC). Dr. Pam Shaw, Director of VIU’s Master of Community Planning program, and Dr. Ralph Nilson, VIU President Emeritus, are the third and fourth VIU academics to be elected by their peers to the society for making a positive impact on the world.
