Important Notice: Changes to Hourly Rates for Educational Programming in 2024 | October 5, 2023 - 11:13am |
We want to share some details on an upcoming change that will affect our educational programming rates at the Deep Bay Marine Field Station, starting in January 2024. Our hourly rate for educational programming will be adjusted to $125 per hour, up from the previous rate of $100 per hour.

The Seaweed Challenge is a term-long project that brings together multiple disciplines, including microbiology and culinary students, to collaborate on developing fermented seaweed products. The main objective of this unique innovation challenge is to create safe and delicious fermented products that have the potential to be transformed into marketable food items. |

Vancouver Island University is a member of the Western Deans' Agreement (WDA). This agreement was established in 1974 as an expression of cooperation and mutual support among universities offering graduate programs in Western Canada. The agreement provides an automatic tuition fee waiver for visiting students. See below for instructions if you are (1) a VIU graduate student looking to go 'outbound' to another western university or (2) an non-VIU graduate student looking to come 'inbound' and take a VIU course. |
